If I could be granted one wish Wiggz with the greatest of respect to you and your freedom to spend your time and money how you please is that supporters like you could get out of Homebase or Primark and come down to Villa Park and actually support the team for which you put forward suggestions as to how they can be improved.

I haven't been to a game this season.  I'm at a point in my life where I support Villa, but I can think of better ways to spend an ever increasing amount of money each weekend (and need to).

However I watched a stream and yes, we were, as many people have said, pretty damn bad.

I for one however am optimistic.  Lerner is going to want us to do one of two things....Go back to the way we were under Martin O'Neill (which I doubt) which would mean McLeish gone and money pumped in, or he wants us to get rid of big wage players still and build from ground up with youth.

I believe the latter was the plan this year, but given how close we flirted with disaster, I can't see him wanting to preside over a relegation battle again next season.  So a decision has to be made doesn't it.

If I could have 3 wishes taking all the above into account, they would be in this order:

1 - Allow us to appoint a Technical Director if McLeish stays and give funds for a quality midfielder
2 - If not the above, get rid of McLeish and look to Martinez again.  I wanted him before and I want him again.  He can motivate, he's a nice guy, and he fits in perfectly with the ethics of our great club.
3 - If McLeish is to stay, and no Technical Director, then I'd be happy for Lerner to go.

My thinking is that only 1 or 2 will happen, with 1 being Lerner's preferred choice.
I think you find that don't "support" Villa.
You might think you are a fan, but you don't support them.

A 90 minute snapshot of our season and McLeish's PL career. Dull, unambitious football with defensive organisation given importance far above all else. I think 'working hard' to get into a position to receive the ball and to support the lone front man should be viewed at least as equal to tackling and tracking back. The point though was very welcome if thoroughly undeserved.

I think we as fans played it just as I would have hoped, support for the team and then open expression of the feeling toward the manager when the whistle went. He cant stay on, can he?

I discussed the match with a bloke down the newsagents this morning. He watched it online and apparently the commentator came out with this gem in the first half.

"Lennon taking on Heskey for pace".  Its 2 hours ago and Im still chuckling!

Took my kids and my brother yesterday, first game for a while. My observations.

1..We're really going to miss Cuellar. He made so many last ditch blocks and tackles today.

2..Clark is growing into a really good defensive midfielder. Herd is improving too, although he's not as far along yet. However, there should only be one of them in the side at at time.

3..Ireland can be a super player if we can put some players he can work with around him. He faded badly in the last 30 minutes, but given the ground he covered in the first 60, I'll forgive him that.

4..We badly need some pace in the team. N'Zogbia had a very poor game, but that's partly because we didn't stretch their defence at all and he was inevitably on his own against 2 defenders.

5..Replacing Hutton with Collins when we were leading and the oppo had just been reduced to ten men was an unbelievably negative move. Would have been far more positive to switch Lichaj to the right, withdraw Warnock to left-back and throw on Bannan. With Heskey also going off, we had to change the pattern to hold the ball more and play through midfield anyway - instead we just resorted to aimless long balls and practically invited them to attack us.  It's not like McLeish didn't have about five minutes to think it over either.

6..We're short of real PL quality all over the pitch - unless we recruit well over the summer, it doesn't matter who our manager is, we're in for another long hard season bumping along at the bottom.

Well to be fair, he might do.  Can you only 'support' the Villa by attending matches?

He might buy Club merchandise each season, persuade younger potential supporters that B6 is their future spiritual home and contribute by posting his opinions on official or unofficial websites.

I do all of these things having not set foot inside Villa Park for nearly 10 years - I don't mean to overreact to what is essentially sermantics but i'm damn sure I 'support' them.

Ozvilla...certainly would not have a pop at you mate.
I think your circumstances are a far cry from admitting that going shopping is preferable to attending matches!
Although, given this season.........

A good point overall and i think a point before the game is what a lot of people would have taken bearing in mind how good Spurs have looked in the last two games.

I thought Ireland worked harder than he has since he's been here but N'Zogbia was bloody dreadful throughout the game, although he was carrying an injury towards the end apparantley.

Clive Allen and Joe Jordan are a pair of ******. Hutton was lucky not to have his leg snapped by a terrible challenge that the little shit house Rose and those pair of wankers had the nerve to complain about the red card.

Classless shite.

Yes, a pair of wankers. Redknapp though never complained as he saw how dreadful the challenge was because he was right in front of it.
