Ireland has put in a shift in every game he's played this season, he hasn't been remotely lazy.

I know footballers are a bit dim and maybe wary of interacting with fans, but you'd think that, just for one evening of the year, they could go out of their way and speak to a few people.

As for lack of a word from the Ginger Mourinho, I'm glad to hear that, it looks like more evidence that he'll be on his bike come the end of the season, and we'll never have to put up with his horrible, depressing, austere nonsense again.

If I were a footballer having to mingle with fans after the season we'd just had, I would expect that anyone coming to talk to me would probably be wanting to hurl abuse at me for the shit season we'd had. And I expect lots of people given the opportunity probably would do just that.

I don't really blame them for not wanting a dozen people coming up them explaining that they should be marking better on corners and telling them that they want the manager sacked.

I don't think anyone going to talk to them would be offering their congratulations.

Couldn't agree more with this.

One thing I will add which deserves recognition is the attitude of those working for the club in new client relationships, the ticket office. club shop and marketing. To a man (or woman where applicable) you can tell that they care. I know a few of them well and they're hurting just like us but don't have the vehicle or medium to express it. From McLeish it was exactly what it has been all season...a celebration of apathy.  We still have a lot of people at this club who genuinely care, I get the impression these feelings will be released should Randy wake up from his spell and take decisive action for the good of all (Mc Leish included).

Nob heads. They'd probably had a fair bit to drink, and I'd like to think this is out of character and that they deeply regret all of it.

I don't think that there are too many footballers for whom that sort of behaviour would be out of character.
