Mat Kendrick tweet:"Apart from his goalkeeping heroics, Alan Hutton's performance was right down there with Habib Beye in Vienna a few years back"Hopefully he is thrown in the bin with McLeish. His signature type of player.
The difference between us and Wigan is they have a game plan, a strategy a way of playing football. I dont think they are that great when you look at the squad they have got but they are a team.We on the other hand are a dysfuntional outfit lacking in direction, tactics and strategy.
I respect him for staying in the dugout. If he'd come out, he'd have copped a load of shit and it might have affected the players. So fair play.
Went today and we got a point that I didn't think we would this morning. As others have said, if Spurs, Chelsea and Man City in 2 weeks do the necessary, we should be okay.Didn't want him back and I want him out at the end of the season, but I thought Dunne was outstnading today. Liked the pairing of Herd and Clark in midfield, but I believe we could have done with an Ireland or Gardner instead of Warnock and moved Gabby wide and played 4-2-3-1. For me we don't have the personnel or more pertinently the wingers to play 4-4-2. NZogbia was disappointing today in the basic things a winger does i.e get to the bye line and cross the damn thing. I have no idea what has happened to Gabby and if he is going to be played down the middle in a 4-4-2 then let's have Weimann please. Finally Heskey. For me I thought that was one of his best performances in a Villa shirt. Held the thing up superbly, flicked on numerous headers and chased everything down. Hope he will leave in 180 mins time, but fair play today. Although I guess a goal would have been too much to ask for?.Finally, finally. Went with my Mum who is 78 years old and a season ticket holder in the East stand at the Hawthorns. Due to illness, this is the first game she has been too for the best part of two months. It was something that we targeted as a goal and that was the best part of today, being able to go to the Albion v Villa derby as we have done for many years.
