This game sums up everything that is wrong with McLeish.  After 10minutes we were totally on top, they looked disorganised and their keeper was looking an absolute liability.  If we'd really gone at them we'd have stood a great chance of getting a big win.  Instead we've backed off further and further and let them have the ball pretty much uncontested until they get into our third.

It's this insistence on keeping 2 solid banks across the back and the midfield that totally destroys our attacking threat, it's infuriating.

Well if it still like this at full time who reckons the useless incompetent scottish twat could get the sack ?

Why would you want to fire him on the back of a win at Liverpool?

After a decent start we've reverted to type. We've no chance if we just keep giving them the ball back and wait for the next attack.

The truth is we should be behind already.

I love King Kenny. Liverpool really are a crap team.

yes this is where a manager has got to show he knows what to do,

That's what worries me  ;)

He's not got much of a reputation for motivating and lifting the team.

I don't want to sound like an apologist for McLeish, but don't you think some of the way we play is down to the players we have out there? Young, inexperienced against some very experienced international footballers. It is somewhat inevitable that they are going to come at us, especially at home. It's not always McLeish.

Think we need just to look at this game in its entirety, we need this result very badly, anything about the manager can be looked at later surely.

C'mon you Villa boys.

If we hadn't played like this all season regardless of the personnel I'd give you that but as we have I prefer to blame the manager.

He won't take off Heskey, he'll stay on to look after Carroll at free kicks and corners when he comes on. I think Bannan she be the one to give way for Gardner even though Bannan has played really well.

I'd say Toronto's right though in this case. We have a very young inexperienced team playing, also players who have not played together like this as a unit. They have done very well but Liverpool have taken command, this is not down to AM.

No fair enough. He certainly hasn't done himself any favours at all with some of the tactics this season. I suppose today he has a legitimate reason. I do hope, like you, that he tells the team to attack them and push Liverpool back a bit. I said earlier that we won't survive 45 minutes getting sucked deeper and deeper.

We started well but can't keep the ball for more than a few passes now.

It's the best I've seen Bannan play in quite a while. Tidy in possession and disciplined without the ball. Collins has been excellent so far at the back. The other 3 are giving me the jitters. Hutton started terribly and doesnt look fit. Lichaj gave away a very naive freekick late on and really poor headed clearance for Kuyt's chance.

Only another 15 mins or so left in Heskey. Gardner to probably come on for him.

Worst Liverpool team in my living memory. Gerrard is a shadow of the player he once was.
