Audio of the 19th minute. Sounds more like a bath filling with water, but still it was emotional at the time.

We've done okay. The kids are trying to get it down and play which is good. Collins and Warnock have tried to force it long from the back a few times which has been disappointing but expected.

I like Lichaj, he's looked decent and his throws are a threat too. Have him over Hutton any day.
Warnocks been okay. Baker looks a little uncertain but he's made some good blocks. We just miss Carlos.
Why can't Collins head a bloody ball properly in the opposition box? Annoying.

Gabby's been okay. Weimann is struggling to get in the game. I'd be tempted to sacrifice him for another midfielder, maybe a wide man.
Bannan is forcing the play a bit too much sometimes. He's tried a couple of Hollywoods when a simple pass and keeping it would be better.
Ireland excellent.
Gardners been decent as well but is better in the middle. I'd be tempted through Barry on the left and Gardner on the right unles we bring on a wideman.

However, most importantly, we're putting the work in. Stan will be proud.

I thought Ireland was great first half. Everything good we did seemed to come through him at some point. I was impressed to see some good patient passing, but no real penetration I guess. After they scored we didn't cave in as I thought we might do, so fair play. Hopefully we can have a right go at them second half.

Come on Villa.

We have done ok. I though Gabby has been a little wasteful so far, but has the beating of Terry and Cahill for pace, and Bannan and Ireland are both passing well enough for him to keep getting chances to get in behind.

Need to get a goal back and see if we can build, but the shape looks ok for such a cobbled side.

Fuck Gabby should have scored

not sure Gabby did anything wrong

No, but a shot into the corner would have been nice than right down the middle. Always gives the keeper a chance

Would that be the corner that Cech had covered anyway with his dive ;-)

No the corner Cech was diving away from, Gabby's left. Look, I realise a lot of people have jumped to his defence and I don't mean to appear too harsh. But it's what differentiates the good and great strikers. Yes, he has a number of other good traits in his game, but Gabby is the former for reason. The shot was low and in the middle which will give a good keeper a chance every time.

I think you've called it about right, Tom, particularly the point about Weimann. He's not getting great ball and he's up against two good CB.

Bannan is playing too many direct balls needs to chill out and stop forcing it.Perhaps a switch with Gardner who has looked bright but out of place out wide.
Ireland again excellent really good passing and certainly puts a shift in.

Nobody seems to have mentioned Baker being down with a head injury when Chelsea scored, meaning the game should have been stopped.

Still, the ref probably isn't on first name terms with him so why bother?

Chelsea will score more when they want to score more. We are shit.
We have eight first choice players injured and found out yesterday that our captain would likely have to retire having been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

What exactly were you expecting, Brazil 1970?
