Fortunately the game is played on grass.  I see your point though, its going to be difficult to get anything.  All I expect is 100% effort from every one of them.

They can only go out and give it their very best shot with 100% commitment, its what our skipper always gives every week.

I (almost!) don't care about the result today. All I know is that, with the academy being so strongly represented and our ill captain watching on and being cheered from all sides of the ground, I am very likely to end the day very proud indeed of my club, regardless of the result.

Well done Stan for supporting the lads.

Wonder what shop Bent's in? Thornton's with Easter coming?

Shame Carlos isn't playing, but good to see a lot of youth in there. Win,lose or draw, play and sing your hearts out for Stan, UTV.

Dan AVFC: Just been told Carlos Cuellar has a thigh strain but should be back in action next week.

It's a brave but understandable selection - I hope the kids do well and I'm glad he's got a MF three in there rather than 2 wingers.

I will have no complaints as long as those playing give their all. That's all we expect and ask for.

Watching sportsnetworld here in Vancouver, just showed Stan all suited up, Villa tie on, big smile as usual, shaking hands with everyone inside the tunnel. What a top bloke!
Showed Torres running on the pitch with 19 Petrov on back of his shirt.

Come on lads win it for the skipper!!!!!

The petroc situation has taken the focus off the result (quite rightly) and perhaps that's the factor that may spur the team on today.
