Truly shocking news. As a lot of other people have said, if anyone has the strength to fight this, Stan has. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

BWFC fan here, would first like to say thanx for all the messages of support we(bolton banter)had from your fans while we all held our breath over Muamba and second say that Stiliyan Petrov is in our prayers and thoughts right now.

It's a horrible thing to go through as a fan never mind the player, his family,team and everyone that knows him but the best you guys can do is be strong and keep showing your support.

Look forward to the match in april and he both our fans have better news about our Hero's.

Apologies if this isn't in the right place or has been discussed before.  Also please feel free to move elsewhere.

I had the pleasure of taking part in the Sport Relief mile a week ago and had such a great time I have been looking to find another "small run" to take part in.     I found a 5k run on 27th May, organised by BBC WM, taking place in Sutton Park and for the BBC WM Red Alert Appeal for Cure Leukaemia.

I was debating whether to enter it or not or try and find something a little closer to where I live, but after the news about Stan this seemed to be the appropriate event to take part in and try and raise a few quid by hobbling around for just over 3 miles.

As I say, if it's not the right place please move, but I thought in the circumstances I would bring it mto people's attention.

Sir Ian Botham is doing another of his charity walks in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. he is in Birmingham on 19th April.

Although the research that he has funded has largely been aimed at research into childhood illness, the benefits of the research will be felt by adults. Since Beefy did his first walk in 1985 he has raised a staggering £13m and child survival rates post diagnosis have increased from 20% to over 90%.

Given the sad news about Stan's diagnosis, I thought that a few of us might want to donate or even walk with Beefy in Stan's honour.
