Shocked and saddened by this news. Stilyan is one of few players who never lets us down. Hopefully the same fight that he shows every game will help him beat this illness.

It should not happen to him, of all people. He is a model professional and dealt with his critics by becoming captain and an indispensible part of the club. Life really is a f****** c*** sometimes...

I'n shaking my head at some 'debating' whether or not to come to VP ovrr McLeish etc. This really underlines how pathetic football supporters canbe. Support your club at all times, thick and thin. When the captain, someone who gives 100% in whatever circumstances, is seriously ill, honestly you won't ever be missed if your natural instinct isn't to get a seat tomorrow and get behind the team.

Stan is one of the few players in the squad who always gives everything for the shirt. He leads the youngsters by example and I'm proud he's our skipper. Fight this Stan, my thoughts and prayers go with you skipper.
