Gordon Cowans, talking after the 6 - 2 win last night.

"We had a go at a new system that we haven't had long working on over the past couple of days.
"If you saw the Burton Albion game the other day, it mirrors what the first team do, pressing high up the pitch.

Personally I don't think£15 is too bad. That's cheap to watch Villa nowadays.

It's a pre-season knockabout.

Looks nice in action, though I've always been a fan of a collar on a kit.  Socks look good too.

I was at the Philadelphia game last night.  First time ever seeing the Villa in person.

I had a great time.  The guys looked good.  A few errors in the front, and a few missed opportunities, but if they had been a little more on top of some of the balls in front of the goal it could have easily been 3-0 instead of 1-0 (however, if it weren't for a pretty solid save by Guzan it could have also been 1-1).  But Villa had no problem possessing the ball for most of the game.

Overall the ball was moved well, and the only issues were failure to take advantage of some opportunities in front of the goal (which is a problem, but it can be remedied).

Good crowd too.  I would say PPL was about 80% full and it was easily 40% villa, which was cool.  In the supporter section it was probably about 30 or so Villa fans having a good time.  I think the crowd would have been better, but the whole region had massive thunderstorms, tornado warnings, and the threat of rain hung over the whole day, probably discouraging a lot of people from attending (it never actually rained though).

The philly fans (despite being some of the least attractive individuals I have ever met) were pretty cool too and there weren't any of the issues usually associated with Philadelphia sports fans (I am an Eagles fan myself, so I know how it usually is)

Good time though, and I hope to see Villa again in the future.

When I get around to it (probably tonight) I will put the pics up on FB

True... but Peterborough probably want to make a few quid out of it. I'd moan if it was £20+, but £15 seems about par.

It's less than I paid to get in to The Lamb...

And a chance to watch Villa play a game for £15.

I went to Boldmere last night.  It was a really good performance from the Villa youngsters.
Daniel Devine looked very good at centre half after missing last season with a crusciate ligament injury.

I was very impressed with Charlie Ward in midfield.  Very confident in his own ability. Played some lovely passes, always wanted the ball and scored a very well taken goal.  He is not unknown to followers of youth football as he was an England Schools international.
With Grealish, Burke, Drennen and Melvyn in the side we had a bit too much for Boldmere.

A few years ago I went to see Stirling play Dumbarton and it cost £12 to get in. To see Villa line up in a game, friendly or no, for  a price that nowadays is decent to see the Villa is, for me, worth it.

Surprised at that. Clyde are freezing prices at a tenner... including the visit of Youknowwho.
