Game should be cancelled whatever happens after today

Is the correct thing to do.  Sport is about a fair contest - we shouldn't be playing a team who have been so collectively traumatised by last night's event, no matter how that might be to our advantage.

I think that you're right. The only definite outcome that could occur before Tuesday would involve very bad news. At the best, the situation is going to still be very uncertain.

I expect we'll hear something tomorrow morning when all the admin people are back at work.  I want to beat them but not like this.

Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Tuesday evening's Barclays Premier League fixture has been postponed, following talks with Aston Villa and the Premier League.

The Club would like to thank Aston Villa and the Premier League for their kind support and understanding at this time.

A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.

TalkSport are reporting that, due to obvious reasons relating to Fabrice Muamba, the game on Tuesday has been postponed.

Good shout in my opinion.

It's just been confirmed as postponed.

Is that on the BBC?

Correct decision, not at all appropriate to play that game at the moment.

Absolutely. The game at Swansea should not have gone ahead either - maybe some lessons were learned from that.

The decision will have to be made as soon as possible, which would logistically be this afternoon. It should, and almost certainly will, be up to the Bolton players whether they want the game to go ahead and I can't see them deciding to play while he's still unconscious and critical.
