Ex Birmingham Manager McLeish
« on: March 08, 2012, 03:55:12 PM »
When will Alex McLeish stop being referred to in the media as 'ex Birmingham City manager'?
Or will he become 'ex Villa manager' before he loses this unhappy moniker.

'One time Smiths frontman' Morrissey left the band in 1987. 'Ex Beatle', Paul McCartney hasn't been one of the Fab Four for 42 years.

When will it ever end?

There's an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the Tunneling Electron Microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building block of our universe. If I were using that microscope right now, I still wouldn't be able to locate my interest in your 'ex-' trauma.

I know you shouldn't reply to a question with another question but it's not an ex thing that puzzles me. My queston would be when can we officially start saying 'Wembley' instead of 'The New Wembley'. It had some amusement when Liverpool had never played at TNW but I can't see the reason to carry on now. Do kids get together in parks now and play a more updated version the game we just called Wembley and call it 'The New Wembley'? Sorry that's two questions.

Stop trying to blame the media.

Blame Lerner for appointing an ex-Blues manager.

Is that sarcasm I detect Rupert?

Well, try this with your microscope...

Alex McLeish - four syllables.

It is uncanny how many of Aston Villa's long standing managers' names have four syllables:
Here's just a few from the top of my head: Martin O Neill, Graham Taylor, John Gregory, David O Lear, The Big Fat Ron, Ronald Saunders, Mister Vic Crowe.

Coincidence? I think not pencil breath.
