Well thats it for me for a few hours. Hopefully by 6PM something will have happened....anything!

Urgh this is annoying now. We NEED to strengthen. We've signed some prospects, now its time to seriously press on and try and get quality signings. Dempsey would have been a good start but it appears that's not happening anymore. What's happening with Benteke? What's happening with Matt Kendrick?

Feeling a bit down about this and although there is still nearly 8 hours to go a lot still needs to be done.

We have signed 6 players this window so far. Just because they are not household names, it is the most I can ever recall us signing in 1 summer.

Besides Vlaar though ozzjim, they're all so uninspiring. I hope they all prove me wrong. I was at the Tranmere match and inspiration and class are what we lack so badly. I am looking forward to seeing what Paul Lambert does with the team. It's been an odd summer, firstly looking forward to some football for the first time in over a year...and then losing the first 2 games, with Newcastle up next. A big signing would lift us all

I’m surprised at the amount of errr surprise people have about Lambert’s targets.  He has always signed players from the lower leagues stating that he wants players who are looking to improve and have a point to prove.  If you wanted existing premiership players then we’ve got the wrong manger.

At this point I am starting to worry a little that that's it for us this window, which, if it is the case, is nothing like sufficient, and means we're going to have a very long, hard season ahead of us.

Especially if we dont get a decent result soon.  The psycological effect of starting with a bad run of results could make things worse.  We definately need more experience.
