For our 3rd choice keeper would you rather have Marshall, 36 years old and never going to be 1st choice or Fielding, 24 years old and *may* still have a chance?  If it strengthens our squad then surely it's a good thing?  Although I'm also hoping for some proven quality before 11pm I see that as a separate matter.

Why are we pratting about with 3rd/4th choice keepers though?  The elephant in the room is that our first team squad is absolute garbage, and it doesn't look like anything is being done about it.

Why do you think that the two things are mutually exclusive?  Surely we should be looking to strengthen in every area at every opportunity.  Again, I'll add that I'm also hoping for some proven players before the window shuts.

Why?  Two midfielders who are good on the ball.  I don't like what Stoke do, but maybe they feel that now they're firmly esablished in the Premier League that they can start to evolve away from the long ball rubbish?  Who knows, the point is they are trying to improve far more than we are.
