I think what we're doing is digging through and underneath the barrel so we can eventually tunnel back up and attempt to climb up the side of it. See Wolves circa 1980s.

Isn't it customary to stop scraping when you get to the bottom of the barrel?

For our 3rd choice keeper would you rather have Marshall, 36 years old and never going to be 1st choice or Fielding, 24 years old and *may* still have a chance?  If it strengthens our squad then surely it's a good thing?  Although I'm also hoping for some proven quality before 11pm I see that as a separate matter.

Why are we pratting about with 3rd/4th choice keepers though?  The elephant in the room is that our first team squad is absolute garbage, and it doesn't look like anything is being done about it.
