As long as it's permanent and not on fooking loan, i'd agree with you. Dempsey was never going to come. We don't want another one who wouldn't want to be here anyway. We already have Ireland and N'Zog for that.

In terms of buying these young players, why not? Might take a bit longer to come to fruition but a good young squad growing together may well mean a good unified team in a couple of years. As long as Lambert can chuck out the shit ones along the way, and keep the scouting going, hopefully keep making astute young signings.

Sturridge is exactly the type of player we need. He can make something out of very little and we literally have nobody that can do that. N'Zogbia should have been that player but he'd find a dead end in a desert if you put a ball at his feet.

He's always struck me as a stroppy, self-centred fucker and given Lambert's comments about having the right attitude and the team being the important thing I wouldn't expect him to be on our radar.

that's why I said type of player. We need someone who can run at forwards and isn't afraid to take a shot. As a club we might be the most shot shy of any team out there. Yes, Sturridge does come over as a selfish twat but he is a good player and does score goals, but you do have to wonder why despite that he doesn't get a regular look in at Chelsea.
