We have the Paralympics on the tv at work. There was absolutely scything tackle in the blind football between Brazil and France earlier. Reminded me of watching Hutton play!

Have they got Wenger managing them.

I suppose its a right game of darts establishing whether there was intent.

it would be disappointing not to come out of today with more that we have given that we have seemingly been close to a couple of decent deals. It will also be disappointing not to hav shifted Hutton and Warnock. I'm sure the club would accept a nominal fee for them just to get rid, which shows how far down they've fallen in the eyes of other managers. Still 10 hours to go, so a lot can happen.

I'd prefer Sturridge to Dempsey. We should go all out to get him.

As long as it's permanent and not on fooking loan, i'd agree with you. Dempsey was never going to come. We don't want another one who wouldn't want to be here anyway. We already have Ireland and N'Zog for that.

In terms of buying these young players, why not? Might take a bit longer to come to fruition but a good young squad growing together may well mean a good unified team in a couple of years. As long as Lambert can chuck out the shit ones along the way, and keep the scouting going, hopefully keep making astute young signings.

This could be the one that releases Dempsey to whereever he's going

We desperately need some older heads in to knit it all together. At least two before the end of today. Do you really fancy us getting much in November with the squad as it is?

I'd take him on loan. He would make a massive difference to our squad and the impact on the team would be brilliant. We can either work on him staying over the next 12 months or Lambert and his scouts can look elsewhere over this period. For some reason this season with Lambert and his team I'm confident that they are always on the lookout for players here and overseas.

Adam signs for Stoke.    4 million

Seems strange, i thought they by-passed the midfield in favour of the Huth hoof. We really should have been in for him at that price, perfect partner for El Ahmadi IMO.

Back in the mists of time we had another manager just like that. And look at what he came up with.

Sounds like Stephens and Benteke are being worked on, anything else and I'd be amazed, unless we can't make Benteke work and go for another striker instead.  I  hope I'm wrong.

Totally agree - feel a bit flat after initial optimism this morning but hopefully will be a very busy 10 hours to come.

My Fantasy League team is in a bit of a state, Ryan Taylor crocked last night, VDV leaving for Hamburg.

Sturridge is exactly the type of player we need. He can make something out of very little and we literally have nobody that can do that. N'Zogbia should have been that player but he'd find a dead end in a desert if you put a ball at his feet.

So would I.  If he did as well as Kyle Walker then we'd all be happy.

West Ham end interest in Benayoun due to wage demands apparently. Can't see us getting him then if his wages are high.
