10 goals in 83 at that level is not exactly setting the world alight, is it? Bit bizarre.

If there's anything in this, then surely this Bowery fella will be our 2012 version of Dean Spink or Neil Tarrant?

My wife just said if football was run by women all these transfers would have been done weeks ago.  Only men put things off until the last minute!

I agree. If I feel like I am on drugs he is clearly smoking crack.

Forget driving him to Villa Park for £600k, I'll carry him there for that

How can we possibly be in the shit moneywise, our owner has just banked £600m from selling the Browns? We will definitely be in the shit moneywise if we are relegated this year and miss out on next years bumper TV deal! Maybe someone should enlighten Mr Lerner, that way if he invests now, he'll get it back in 12 months!

I really don't understand this Bowery transfer like the rest of you, why sign a young striker when we have so any waiting in the wings? We need someone who can make an immediate impact on the team.

i'm trying hard to keep the faith here. If, and i realise several more experienced signings could materialize before the deadline, Bowery is it for our striker strengthening options, we are totally fucked. This type of potential signing isn't what most people had in mind surely?

Apparently Villa have had an offer turned down for Dale Stephens from Charlton?

jesus christ guys. we're paying 600k for a young striker who might end up being a good part of the squad now/in the future. this is no different to the edna stevens, salifou, etc signing. a no-risk signing that could have a high reward.

I'd be amazed if Bowery is the only forward bought before Friday. Some of us need to relax a little and have faith in PL.

Unless Lambert is in process of offloading the Fonz and he is a replacement....? That way we could still be in the market for another striker, hopefully Benteke.
