Bendtner isn't that bad but I would hope for better.

I think Bendtners problem is he rates his abilities massively higher then they actually are.

That and his penchant for getting into off-field bother (vandalising cars in Newcastle city centre, that kind of nonsense).

Don't want anyone on loan, and don't want Bendtner even permanently. He's an utter twat, and a very mediocre player most of the time.

Permanent players only please, LB and striker as a minimum, 1-2 more on top ideally.

What Mazrim said.

There's a good player in there, but a fair few have tried and failed now.

I think Bender is a top player in the making but his head is off somewhere else. I would take him for sure.

I am holding out hope we get 4 this week, Bennett, Benteke seem the most likely, then I would not mind Adam and Gouffran to give us a few more options and quality going forward, and I think Adam could feed Bent very nicely.

I'd have Benteke over Bendtner. Not because I know a lot about Benteke, but  because I do know a lot about Bendtner.

Christ no. I'd rather have Heskey back.

That's about as funny as somebody pretending Ireland got sent off.

Hmm, 'Arry was speaking to Sky about the Modric deal at the ODI. I wonder if they chased him down for the interview or he just gravitated to the cameras.
'Arry and his agent are playing the media game trying to get his next job sorted...they've been pimping him all day on Talkshite for the West Ham job so expect to see candle face popping up all over the place in the next few weeks.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert hopes to complete the signings of Genk striker Christian Benteke and Middlesbrough defender Joe Bennett.

After on Tuesday night defeating Tranmere Rovers in the Capital One Cup, the Villa boss will turn his attention to trying to bolster his squad before the transfer window shuts.

Villa have already had one bid - believed to be around £5million - rejected for Belgium international Benteke.

And Sky Sports sources have revealed the Premier League club want Middlesbrough's England Under-21 defender, Bennett.

"If we can do something with a few people, we'd like to do something. There are three days to go and things go for you and against you. It's been like that so I will wait and see"

"Tomorrow, we've just got to try and see where we are with Genk and they will probably throw the ball back in our court.

"I will wait and see what happens between now and Friday.

"With Joe Bennett, hopefully something might happen on that. Has a bid gone in? Near enough.

"I won't talk about his qualities until I know (if a deal has gone through). It's unfair on Villa and Middlesbrough and unfair on the lad himself."

Lambert is keen to strengthen his squad after the loss of the opening two Premier League games.

He said: "We are trying with a few players. I just need to wait and see if anything happens.

"If we can do something with a few people, we'd like to do something. There are three days to go and things go for you and against you. It's been like that so I will wait and see."

A few players sounds positive. 4 extra players and we might have a decent squad to find a side from. I do hope one can play wide though.
