i would definitely throw myself of a bridge if we ended up with Downing and NRC again

I'll hold your hand at the same time . Ones a massive wanker and one thinks hes better than he really is.

I'm struggling to work out which way round you have them based on those descriptions.

Sky - via Twitter - reporting that we've made a bid for Joe Bennett and Middlesbrough.

I bet Joe Bennett costs more than Middlesbrough does.

We've put a bid in for Joe Bennett from Boro (not the Solihull one)..

Is left-back a priority?

Every time I see an image of Stephen Warnock I'm reminded that it is.

I never heard of him before.

If he goes the other way, then that'll do for me. We need a reasonably good midfielder, though.

I've got a mate up in Boro so i've just text him to ask him what this Joe Bennett chap is like.

edit. My North East contact (god, i sound like eastie) tells me that this Joe Bennett is comfortable on the ball and good going forward.

Do you have any contacts in Belgium clampy?
Regarding Bennett ,I'm a bit worried its another signing with no premiership experience , we need a couple of proven players at this level and Charlie Adam is one I would like to see at the club.

I hope the Bennett story is true, i've said a few times what a good attacking left back he is.

Joe Bennett deal will be around 3mill so half what Ipshit wanted for Cresswell. He is attacking similar to Leighton Baines a very good signing.

It’s been mentioned a few times previously and I dismissed it thinking we’d sign more players/be better than our current form, but here goes:

Rather than spunk Xm on a not so great DCM why don’t we give Warnock a whirl there for the remainder of his contract.  He’s played there a lot for Bburn and looked okay at the end of last season.  Obviously he’s not the finished article but he has good energy and won’t cost anything.

By the end of the season lambert will have had a good look at the squad and Henke will have had time to identify and line up long term players.  I basically hate the thought of us signing “NRC” (example only) for three years on 40k-a-week knowing that he’s not the answer and it preventing us from signing players later (due to the wages).

I just can't see why so many people suggest this, he was just as much of a headless chicken in midfield as he has been at left back, he just isn't punished for it so often.  His positional sense is appalling.
