Some of the hissy fits are laughable. God knows how some of you would have copef in 1986/87.. Yesterdays result may well be a watershed moment for our leaders. It showed our 'squad' up. Mr Lambert was given a lesson that were not streetwise enough.. If he wants Cresswell bring him in same for sny player wherever they are playing. Get the Genk striker in  get Annan on loan be savvy in the market Huddlestone? Maybe. Guzan needs to be in goal Tuesday. Some on here need to chill and get down Villa Park once in a while. Lambert needs  support. Some of the players need support. Its a big week but come on dont panic..yet!

Unfortunately this is not 86/87. There was not the massive gulf then between the two top divisions. Relegation then could actually help you, give you a bit of breathing space, sort your team out, and get back to winning ways and return stronger, without any significant financial penalty. Nowadys the financial penalties are such that you mayy be lost for good.

I'd rather stick with Delph than play NRC to be honest.
We can get a better player than NRC even if the hour is late. Hopefully we have dossiers on players even if we havent bid for them yet.
Deals can be done quickly this time of the year.

While I'm all for solidarity in the face of adversity, it's starting to get a bit much for a lot of people. The club really does feel on a downward trajectory - under GH the remnants of MON's team just about got their act together enough to finish in a not-so-bad 9th, but lets not forget how bad we were that season. Then last season, with the team stripped of it's best players, we really struggled and survived by the skin of our teeth. This season, more players gone and the academy graduates are being asked to fill the gaps, a couple of signings from Feyenoord isn't going to paper over the fact that we don't have a first team. It's a rabble thrown together just so we can put a side out.

Asking folk to support the 'team' regardless of the performance of the last two seasons and the shite start to this one - when it costs about £40 to sit in the Holte End - is starting to take the piss. The support is there, but it's a two-way street. Investment, now.

Please stop mentioning NRC as our saviour i am depressed enough already. Mick Mcarthy just mentioned on Sky two years ago that was our reserve team. Clarke, Bannan, Fonz, Weimann, Baker (who was or best player) Surely after a full pre-season Lambert has identified several players who he wants. And probably a few others as he has watched more games. The question is will Lerner fund him for these players ? Yesterday our fans were crying out for a performance. But we do not have the quality to provide one. I am praying we get two or three quality players in by next week ...............

I know its not 86/87 the point being how 'fans' cope with adversity. As usual Mazrim a voice of reason. Baker/ Vlaar way togo at back till Tonne is 'fit'..

We've had two years of adversity, this year was supposed to see us getting back on track.

Paul Lambert has had two games forget the last seasons. As for  40 squid are you dure. Maybe some on here should get together and take advantage of 'family' deals. Yesterdays was 50 for 4 could even have been less.

You can pick up good midfielders that can read when to intercept and play a decent pass for a relatively low fee and wages if you have the rite team running transfers and scouting, which im confident that we now do, gone are the days of combative athletes such as NRC. Players such as El Ahmadi, Tiote, Cabaye, Mamadou Diarra, Frimpong are all players that were either free transfers or signed for under £5m.

Always the same people telling others how to support their team. Always.

As I said, it's a two-way street. The club cannot expect the fans to keep stumping up cash when the team is no bloody good. We've had two years of this, you can understand why people are so disappointed. Support the team, yes, but that doesn't mean that people can't criticise the direction in which they perceive the club to be going. It's called an opinion, and some people on here would do well to realise that.

There is lot of anger being vented on the match thread about need for quality. So say if we had £20M available who are the two players we can get in for that money that they wil will fix our lack of quality problem?

Michael Owen and Nigel Reo-Coker. I thought this had already been established?

We've had two years of adversity, this year was supposed to see us getting back on track.

It's our 4th manager in just over 2 years (more if you consider the McDonald and McAllister periods), to expect Lambert to have rectified all the attendant problems in only 2 competitive games is just not realistic.

You could see in the last half hour yesterday that we have the basis of a reasonable side, we just have to trust the manager when he talks about bringing in reinforcements and that longer term he can get them playing. I keep mentioning the 3 injured players but with them and a couple of additional signings the side we are putting out in October will look very different from that which played yesterday.

And we will. Keep the faith. What would help is some of the boys and girls on here start getting down to VP so we sell out and support Paul and the team.

If Reo Coker is the answer the question must be "who is the player least suited to the Lambert style of play?".
