[The Situation]

It seems like Villa fans are now saying what Browns fans were saying for years.

I'm not pleased at all. Randy needs to realize things need to change otherwise we are in for another season of struggle.

It's really frustrating what's
happened both on and off the field.

Whether he likes it or not he needs to seriously back Lambert. This team is made up of players who have been part of disaster seasons, we need quality players to improve this team, no bargain basement buys which will only add to numbers but not the quality. This team won't go far without the required improvements that need to be made. It's sad to say but right now our team looks of lower table standard.

We've got 6 days left, let's see what we are made of.

Apart from Barry, sold all the best players that he bought in the first place and has a net spend of over 50m, and has continually propped up the wages. He is a glaringly shit business man, and does not have enough nouse to run the football club very well, but he is not an asset stripper.

Ok bought the club for £60m,net spend of £50m. Club sold for say £200m? By the way I agree he doesn't seem to have enough nouse to run/own the club.

200m would not even pay back the money he has spent on buying the club, injecting money into it and propping it up.

He looks more and more like a poor chairman whose interest in the club is on the wane, and he's been clawing back some of the money we've spent, whilst reducing the wage bill, but that is nothing like asset stripping, and it is very, very hard indeed to see how he'd ever manage to sell the club and break even, let alone make a profit out of it.

club sold for £200m? Did i miss a memo or something? Lerner came in and spent big backing the managers every whim. It didn't produce the desired results and we are stuck trying to get the finances on an even keel while still trying to compete. (Does anybody expect sunderland to be any  different  to us? Let's see  what they do in 5 years time)

The problem with Lerner is that he backed the wrong manager at the wrong time.  This one looks like a proper manager and DOES need backing.  Randy is a poor judge and has given us two years of shit.  Why go and get a decent manager in and then fail to back him properly.  I remain optimistic that he'll do this in the last 6 days of the window.

I still cannot believe that PL would have come to the club without a guarantee of some decent cash to spend, wasnt he in dispute at Norwich that he was only being given 15 million to spend this summer

Randy needs to ask himself what's worse: being relegated and losing out on a 20% increase of TV money which would be a disaster on and off the field or plucking up the courage to spend some money on quality players in positions we need to improve as a team.

just reread my last post, bloody hell i sound like mcleish. The fact remains though that lerner does not have infinite funds and is trying to run the club as a business not a hobby. If he wanted to make a quick profit he would have been gone 3 years ago. I trust him to back the manager and i think we will see improvement soon. I do not think petty name calling is warranted or helpful, i thought we were better than that on this site

No problem, but I'll be sure to point out to you every time somebody gets called a c*** or a twat on here in future.  People like O'Neill, O'Leary, John Terry, Ian Robo, Thatcher etc.  I'm sure you'll be just as quick to clamp down on those, and all the times you haven't in the past were mere oversights.
