I wonder if we can settle this good football versus results football once and for all. Do teams who play attractive, passing, attacking football get better results?

Maybe somebody could look up the stats for Stoke and Barcelona please?

For me its pretty simple. Playing possession based football means we are building towards something. A way of playing that is competitive in the modern game. The reason Norwich and Swansea were able to end up comfortable last season even with piss poor players is because of this. Compare that to clubs like, well us and say Liverpool with better players but playing an old school system.

So I expect poor results to start, I dont care. I will worry if we dont have a point after 4 games. Right now the West Ham result is less important to me than how we lost. We didnt look like we were hanging on for dear life for 90 mins trying to desperately hoof it forward for a lucky break. Also I like looking at it, its more entertaining, which is something  pay for.

Nixon is that Blackburn fan who posts his scoops on their forum I think. If this is true I imagine we're probably playing half his wages for the season. Why won't MON bite with a loan fee and full wages offer? It's his fault we're still saddled with the fecker.

Surely Doncaster could do with another experienced right back.

Isn’t the key variable with Doncaster the agent of all the players?
Anyone know if that experiment is being continued this season?

I must admit that I haven't put too much work into this, but the last time Barcelona played a Villa Park they were thrashed. Stoke got a draw.

It's obviously too early in the window for MON to complete any deals, we'll have to wait and see what happens;-)

Warnock's on a free next year isn't he? Blackburn get a Premier League quality (well, in terms of pay packet) player on loan for the cost of his wages for the season. We get rid. Warnock still gets his free transfer next Summer.

Seems to work well, if he won't move on a permanent anywhere else so he can get his free next year then it's the best we can do.

I’d be tempted to keep Warnock till Christmas, so Cresswell - assuming we sign him - can be introduced slowly to the premiership.
