I'm just not sure you can coach a good attitude into somebody.

Someone I know who knows people who are "ITK" (yes that acronym I know) with the club.

Just reporting what I've been heard...

Collins come back, I love your passion, passing, attitude, skill. You are a solid International Premier League Player.  Lambert you fool why get the German scout in?

This the Defoe that AVB has said he is happy with having he and Adebayor without getting anyone else? Bollocks springs to mind.

Not sure if it has been mentioned earlier but Roysten Drenthe is available on a free.  Whats peoples thoughts on him?

Lazy, over-inflated ego and will want high wages.  I'd steer clear.

AVB bollocksed himself in that interview. Said he prefers three strikers, because in his system he only uses one, and prefers the third one to be a younger player who won't get frustrated with not playing as much (Harry Kane). That leaves Adebayor, Defoe and the incoming Leandro Damiao.

I don't want Defoe at the Villa. Just doesn't seem the right fit.

I wonder if we can settle this good football versus results football once and for all. Do teams who play attractive, passing, attacking football get better results?

Maybe somebody could look up the stats for Stoke and Barcelona please?

Ah, but you'll run into the the thing where people say 'look at their resources and players' etc etc. I think it would be interesting to see a statistical comparison of turnover, net spend on transfers and wages and league results compared with playing style, perhaps indicated by statistics like completed passes, possession average, number of long balls etc. I think it would come down very favourably on clubs like Swansea and less so on, say, Stoke.

I'd prefer us to win alot of games, win trophies and be successful.

If we can't do something worth remembering then I want a team (not a club, before people get offended) that we can be proud of.

Not only that, what comes with a more positive approach will be beneficial long term: clear identity and philosophy that will continue in the absence of players/staff.

Yes. Where does Collins fit in though? I would like to take my kids to see Villa whoever is manager, but played the right way too. Villa need to improve their football. Collins was not the answer. John Collins would do us ok though or someone in that mould.
