Three managers, including the one who bought him, chose to either not play him or ship him out on loan.
The whole of the previous page demonstrates that this is utter nonsense. So please stop saying it.

I guess we'll never know about Lambert. I don't understand why his work permit was turned down though. As we've seen Tevez still can't speak a word of English and missed half the season last year?

Tevez not doing interviews isn't to say that he doesn't know enough English to pass the test.

No but playing less than 50% of the matches means that he is well short. I'm sure it's at least 75%?

Isn't the percentage rule for the number of international games played over something like a 4 year period? I'm not sure that's even how its done anymore.

I'm not particularly clued on Tevez's specific situation, but the 75% you're talking about there is international matches.

I think it'as actually that Makoun had to give up his work permit when he went to Greece and the rules regarding language changed between him going there and now.

I'm fairly sure the language thing is a new requirement from the last year.

Yeah I think you're right. I'm sure that players who need a work permit have to play in a certain amount of league games though? Maybe, maybe not?

Anyway, Dunne going to Stoke according to the Mail, and Warnock in the reserves with MON to make his move next week, according to the Telegraph.

I read that article (the Telegraph one I mean), but it wasn't the Sunderland link but this that caught my eye:

Warnock’s former club, Blackburn, are also monitoring developments and want to strike a loan deal but are under pressure to sell Marcus Olsson, the Sweden international, before progressing with a move.

Could be the swap move is on?

If by every game then you mean he played in half of the 16 games then I guess so.
He played in eight of the ten games that he was available for under Houllier's tenure. He was rested along with most of the first team in the FA Cup game. Leaving him being 'dropped' for one match.

Still, you know best.

I apologise, I stand corrected. I still don't understand why the guy isn't playing for us now bearing in mind how poor our midfield is?

Because he doesn't want to. He was signed by a manager who spoke his language, and played his type of football, and ended up with TSM. Can you blame him for wanting to bale out.

How is it utter nonsense?  It's fact that McAllister and McLeish didn't rate him, and Houllier had dropped Makoun prior to Houllier's heart problem.

Christ, if we can get Stoke to pay 3m for a 32 year old, then that is good business (assuming he's replaced).

It's utter nonsense that the person who signed him chose not to play him. The bit about the two REALLY shit managers not wanting to play him is completely accurate.

Hutton and Dunne for Jones looks a good deal for me. 2 lots of wages gone, striker in that is quality on his day and gives us a different option and no money spent, although we would need another centre half in some form.
