Huddlestone is a brilliant footballer, and alongside KEA would give us a midfield to be proud of. Would really love him here.

I would love it if we could get 3-4 players in before the deadline that actually make us interesting to watch.

Olsson at left back and Huddlestone in midfield would help. Still think we should go for Moses up top.

My only concern about lambert is that i was really positive that his teams would have a go - my mate said that apart from a Vlaar shot from 30 yards we never troubled the keeper in the entire game

Hardly inspired, attacking football is it - even with the players he has

Linked with Huddlestone in the Times
Could you please send the Times link to this story , I have tried every which way but the nearest  I can come up with Huddlestone & Villas-Boas  . Most up-to-date speculation had Huddlestone joining Stoke on loan .....or so I can see anyway.......Cheers.....Godzvilla!

I suppose after a season with being drilled not too to attack it might take a while for the players to adjust.

This is a point worth remembering throughout the season, we're going to have to be a lot more patient than we thought. Also, it will take the team a while to gel together with the mix of young players and new signings.

To me it looked like the players were having to concentrate so hard in order to keep possession of the ball that other aspects of the game were suffering as a result. Hopefully as pass and move becomes more natural for the team then we will see far more attacking threat.. although I suspect this won't be for 5 or 6 games yet.

Huddlestone would be a great addition. I still think I'd like to see a pacey attacking player brought in to give us another option. Can't really think of who we could afford though.

We are still, at the very least, two players short of being where we need to be.

One game in and you're concerned? Really? Sack him then?

Also we have only has a handful of games which were really non-competitive and with many changes within each game. We are going to need like you say 5 or 6 games to settle down and develop this new system. Hopefully a couple or more quality additions added the squad will help enormously.

We had more possession and more shots on goal than Weat Ham, we looked a better team than last year.
The only problem which isn't Lamberts fault is Bent.. Until he starts moving into space a trying to at least try and create something for himself, instead of just waiting for it on a plate we are buggered. Bent is putting a lot of pressure on the team by his non contribution to the team.

That is Lamberts task, to get Bent more involved and contributing more, which will in turn mean the whole team works better and hopefully will be a lot more dangerous going forward.

I'd agree with that.  And it's also worth noting that throughout pre-season we played with two strikers, so were practised to attack in that fashion, and then went 4-4-1-1 on Saturday.

Signing Tom Huddlestone would be a good move just the sort of player we need.
