spot on about Randy. evertything points to a  sale if a buyer can be found. Statistics don't lie, one win in 17 PL games. The squad is shite and it needstoo much reinvestment for Randy to swallow. Appointing PL was pointless without significant financial backing which will not happen under the current regime. A net spend of 6.5m doesn't even touch the sides of what is needed

I wonder if this has had an effect?

I don't want to bring up the 'F' word, but we lose one game 1-0 away and all of a sudden all the calls for patience, quiet optimism, slow progression and congratulating Lerner for actually having a plan give way to a need for root and branch reform of the whole club. I'm sorry, but it just looks totally ridiculous.

If nothing else, the game yesterday showed that we don't have a strong enough squad.

I'll opt out of your sweeping statement, i've been saying that Lerner nees to go for some time, appointing Lambert hasn't changed that, the club needs new ownership from somebody who is genuinely interested.

Opt out, that's fine. My 'sweeping statement' was specifically targeted at those who've gone from optimistic to wildly pessimistic on the basis of one game - and there have been plenty.

You're right.
And I think a lot of it was fuelled by this mythical pot of gold that would appear after he'd sold the Browns.

That's true, but the fact that a lot of the extreme negativity has come as a reaction to one defeat is a little insane. I think Chris is right: we can't really draw many conclusions from the game other than we already knew, namely that the style of football will improve, we have good players who need time to gel and this season will be one of patient middling. That's fine.

A text from a friend of mine who was at the game yesterday put it exactly right in my view.
" Mr Lerner,it is time to shit,or get of the pot."

One game but we are so weak squad wise ..other teams are strengthening we are just filling gaps when players leave

Gaps that existed when the former players were there, frankly.

I can understand that Randy could be more hands on and maybe more visionary but too often the people are just demanding more money, which I think is unfair.  Would the fans be happy to pay more for tickets and therefore generate the cash to buy these players...

Would the players be willing to take a drop in wages so the supporters did not have to pay extortionate prices for their tickets?
