Would be nice to get AJ but I havent seen Lambert play with wingers at all so far with Villa.

It is interesting how persistent that rumour has been though. Its well over a year old at this point.

I ave to believe Lambert has a LB already in the bag. No way would be publicly drop Warnock like this if he didnt have a plan B

i think some of you guys ought to stay of the Speculation, lies and absolute crap thread, because you are taking it all to seriously.
people do post stuff thats not really got much authority, but thats what the thread is for, its no good jumping down the throats of those who share what they have heard , read , txt etc, a lot of it will be bullshit but hey ho, live with it

or better still just stick to the official site, that way you wont be dissapointed

Good point.

Probably has targets, I don't think anything is around the corner.

Ultimately, even though for some reason the term evokes negative reactions all round, we're on a sell-to-buy. We overdid it for 4 years and got no return. One out, one in.

It's exactly what 90% of other clubs do. Even Man City are doing it this window.

AJ would be a cracking signing, he's the best winger in the country IMO.  Be chuffed to bits if we get him, I actually think 13 million is a bargain.

True. It is easy to lose track of the fact that the league has changed. A lot of folks are being much more careful this season.

I really don't get why so many people rate Johnson so highly.  If we sign him I'll give him a fair crack but I just don't see anything special.  He's got decent control and is reasonably quick and that's about it.  He's ok in front of goal but won't score a hatful, he's hit and miss with his delivery and he loses the ball quite a lot by trying to do too much.  I just don't see him as much of an upgrade on nzog, and I see him as having the same flaws.

Oh Damon, how could you?
The King of Spain's surname begins with a G.

No, AJ refers to Angelina Jolie. Her ability to find young talent across the world would be invaluable.

I'm not trying to give it the 'ITK' bollocks, however I'll share this with you.  I've just had a text off a mate who knows a member of staff at the Villa, saying we've had a bid accepted for AJ.

Hmmmm. Any chance he's just read the same Twitter bullshit as me, on this ocassion?

No. It came from someone at VP that we're all familiar with, who I know for a fact my mate is acquainted with. Obviously I can't say who. Don't shoot the messenger if it doesn't come off, all it said was we've had a bid accepted, could still be a long way to go.

I caught the papers round up on SSN this morning and the Sun (I think) were saying Johnson had a bust up with Mancini before Sunday's game and has played his last game for City.

I agree with you 100%

Much rather have Milner back in central midfield at that price.

Both the Scouse teams are going head to head for him according to the press this morning.  I can't see us appearing more attractive than either of them to him at this moment in time.

Those saying they'd rather have Milner back at that price. Who said Milner would be available and at anything like £13m? I don't think Milner will be leaving City this year, Johnson probably will.

The Milner coming back talk just bores the pants off me.

He's not coming back.

Move one.

Milner is valuable where he is, even though he doesn't play week in week out.

He's a good lad, versatile and gives 100%. Perfect for a squad with lots of games to play, whilst earning more money than he would elsewhere and winning more than he possibly would else where.

He'd be mental to even think about coming back here.

It wouldn't surprise me to see us sign a winger. It might be something in mind with Lambert. He's played narrow in pre-season probably out of necessity as Albrighton is the only senior winger we have on the books and is injured. N'Zogbia could play as a winger but seems loathe to, preferring to play centrally or cut inside all the time, and his inconsistency is also problematic too.

Johnson at 13 million I wouldn't mind, as long as we were given money to buy a left back and striker that we're in more need of.

Something tells me that Randy wouldn't just hand over 13 mill on one player at the moment. Certainly not for one as unproven, with an attitude as questionnable as Johnson.
