Why is David Weir on that list? He left Everton five years ago. And he didn't retire.

I think he went back as a coach but played for the reserves a few times (they definitely added him as a coach at the start of 2012), so technically he's a player leaving now that he's decided to solely be a coach and not play at all.

Simon Poulson being linked with us tonight. With the new that Warnock was dropped from the squad, it wouldn't surprise me if we're close to a LB

If this is what is constituted as link then I'll eat my foul smelling little hat.
If you can't be arsed to read it we are linked with Poulsen because someone on VT asked if he had signed for Deportivo and the fount of all knowledge MysteryMan replied:

"Mmmmmmmmmm"

Fascinating.

Poulsen's a good player and played with Holman at AZ last year. He's also a free agent I think. He's 27 also which seems to be an age of player that brings experience and still has enough time and hunger to excel in a new league.

Poulsen would be a good addition. I'd like to see a couple of new arrivals just to make sure we are well covered.

ESPN are saying Warnock to Sunderland might be a season long loan with option to buy.

Found a link to ESPN reporting Sunderland's interest in Warnock, though says they'd prefer a 12 month loan then sign him on a free next season, bet they would...!

They might still ahve to apy a fee to us to get him on loand and pay his wages. If not then I can't se the point in letting him go.

I was just having a look at a Sunderland forum to see if there was anything in this - they are a miserable bunch, already got it in for MON and moaning about lack of transfer activity.  Wait until August 31st!
