If he's handed in a transfer request doesn't that usually mean he loses any loyalty bonuses owed to him, so that could knock a potential 1-2 million off his price tag?

Let's heed the lessons that the man who's in for Fletcher taught us. Leave Sunderland to him.

So where's Fletcher going to then? Sunderland or Villa?
Sunderland.

Without a doubt, if anyone else was bidding that kind of money they would have by now.

Aside from the fact that 10m+ is silly money for him, I'm also not remotely convinced that he's the type of player we need.

Leave well alone for me, and if he does well at sunderland I won't lose sleep.

From that list of strikers a page or so back, I quite like the idea of Bellamy coming on loan for the season.  Maybe, a "no fee and we’ll pay his wages” type agreement.  I think he would really complement Bent in the sense he is quite creative and likes to pull wide and he still has raw pace.  In a weird way his age may assist the likes of Weimman and The Fonz as he’d need resting and could also pass on advice to the youngsters.

I wouldn’t want us to sign him on a long contract but as an expensive bit of sticky tape I think he’d be ideal.  We could then make a big signing next summer when we are in a position of strength.

I like it in concept, then I remember just how much I dislike Bellamy and it falls apart.  Decent player yes but also a horrible little git.

He’s certainly argumentative, but don’t you think he’s matured a bit recently?  He certainly seems to know where the line is nowadays and rarely gets in trouble (well less frequently - rare enough for us to be unlucky if the time bomb exploded whilst a villa player).  Is it Bellamy that has that huge football academy in africa?

He is according to wiki.  That’s a good shout on a one year deal with an extra year option.
I’d imagine he’d be wanting greater security than that though.

Fletcher is alright but nothing spectacular.

I wouldn't be too bothered if we signed him, but I'd be amazed if we were going to sign a single player for 12m, and utterly gobsmacked if it were Fletcher.

No chance. He is not even a target man.

Would still lover Milner back on loan or just back full stop into our midfield, any young left back with ability that can get Warnock out of the club and a winger like Johnson. None will happen mind.

I don't think we'll sign anyone from within England.

I'd have no complaints if they cut off everything north of Alton Towers and let it float off into the Atlantic, but I still think Sheffield is technically English.
