Yeah Given signed a 5 year deal.  I guess we can add contract negotiations to the list of things that TSM is terrible at.

In Big Brad's last season with us there were definite signs the old reflexes were going. 

Given in place of Friedel is just about the only upgrade that took place last year.

Really? I thought Friedel looked as good at Spurs last year as he ever did for us.  Any way up tho' a  5year contract was a silly move.  As was 4 years for Hutton.  I think 3 year contarcts will become the norm for new signings, with the exception of big name signings.

Given will have retired before his contract with us expires, I'm sure of it.

Also, it's all well and good citing Friedel as an example but for the fact he is something of an exception and hasn't missed a match in more than five years whereas Given's fitness record is weaker.

I'm quite sure I've been fairly consistent in my concerns on this matter. Even at the time he signed that five year contract.
