in fairness to TSM his Dutch scouting has served us well with Holman, and I'm sure we have some decent contacts out there partly due to him. That parting gift is the very least he owes us after last year.

Don't think we could et that sort of deal for Carroll. I read that Wham would be obligated to buy him if they stayed up this seaon.   Bit of a gamble as the loan might not work out then you still have to shell out for him.

That's the deal Liverpool want now and are playing hardball over it.  But wait until the last week of August when they're still stuck with a player thye don't want and see what happens then!

agreed about TSM scouting wise but it would have disintegrated once actually playing under a man who put the stone into stone age. TSMwould have destroyed the talent of any signing given time and did so in Charlie's case. Mutton was always mutton dressed as mutton

Lambert was saying today that Bent is likely to be fit to face Forrest on saturday.
Personally I’d risk going into the season with what we have, especially as there is the option to play 1 up front (a la Bent at Charlton).

We have 4 good strikers. Just because one of them is out for the first two weeks of the season doesn't mean we need to splurge out on a new one. When the left back position is sorted only then would I consider a new striker.
