I'd love Carroll at Villa. He'd be a perfect addition.

As much as he might be a good player I don't think he has the right attitude to be a top player. If you need to be told by the bloke you just spent 35m that you should look to change your off the field habits to become all you can be then you simply haven't got what it takes in my opinion. A footballer's career is very limited and he should treat his body accordingly. Carroll has a lot of potential but as long he likes his pop then like a number of players before him his career will be well short of what it could have been. I'd rather not have players like that at Villa irrespective of how good he could be.

One in a million was McGrath. Carroll, only wishes he was a 100th the man McGrath is and a 1000th the player he was.

West Ham are offering Carroll 100,000 quid a week to join them.

Where have they suddenly got that sort of cash from ?
He will be making a couple of porn films as well  every week to earn that sum.

I don't know if it has been said but why not give Berbatov a shout?

Lovely player but on massive wages.  It'd be great to have somebody like that in the side though.

I'm going to pretend I didn't read the last couple of pages.  It seems easier to do that than trying to work out why anyone would suggest Cole or Owen.

I would have thought Jordan Rhodes would have been worth a shout especially with Gabby out. Cash + Delfouneso?

Because he wouldn't come to us and we wouldn't pay his wages.

He's exactly the sort of striker we need. It would take a major commitment to get him here and I wouldn't say it was impossible but its very unlikely.
I do think a wedge has been set aside for a striker but it's far more likely we're trying to find the next Berbatov and that's fine by me.

I am sure we will be looking for a striker but it is identifying suitable player to play with Bent and without Bent and don't need stupid transfer fee or wages. Andy Carroll is too much of risk for PL to go for. There must be someone who can do the job for 8 millions and required say 30 grand a week rather than 25 millions pounds and 100 grand a week.

I wouldn't say no to Rhodes, but they seem to want far too much money for him to the point it makes no financial sense, especially when compared to value abroad.

It's also a 'no' to Berbatov from me.  Just not convinced he'd have the right attitude after taking a step down from Man Utd.  Plus his wage demands would be ridiculous.

Carroll I'm in two minds about, but again I feel we could probably find a player of his type and ability for less money abroad.  That having been said, if it's a loan deal with an option to buy for about £15m afterwards I'd be tempted.

Don't think we could et that sort of deal for Carroll. I read that Wham would be obligated to buy him if they stayed up this seaon.   Bit of a gamble as the loan might not work out then you still have to shell out for him.
