James nursery said its worth $100million

Where has $1billion come from?

I was reading English and American news and several stated the value of the 70% controlling stake to be around $940,000,000 - $970,000,000 - so just under $1bn which is around £600million and I'm not sure what James Nursey story you are reading but this 1 from last night says the same as I posted.

Forbes reckon the Browns is worth $997m. Hmmm...Forbes Magazine/James Nursey...who to believe? What a conundrum!

James Nursey in "not knowing arse from elbow" shocker.

James Nursey in `Lerner to sell before he buys' shocker

Every nose I've ever met struggles with placing the decimal, but usually it's regarding their away support.

Agreed. When I see a couple of them together and ask them how many b-lose were at some away game or other, there usually follows a discussion between them based on their exaggerated 'talking-to-a-Viler' guesses, which I interrupt by saying 'forget the numbers, shall we call it a handfull'?

Reminds me of a Japanese student who lived as a lodger with my mate, spent his whole time in England completely stoned.

His word for `cows' was `Maaaanymanymany brackwhite animal'

Nursey now saying on twitter that it is about £600m randy will gain and his previous tweet was way off the mark.
Randy also selling his cleveland home and nursey says the browns were his dads club and randy is more passionate about villa- augurs well for our future.

Yeah, from what I hear, his son is finished school in Cleveland and Randy will pretty much sever ties with the place being based in New York and, more regularly, over here.

I'd heard more than one whisper about renewed investment and I had thought it was outside investment in Villa rather than selling the Browns but its all good.
He's getting dogs abuse over there even worse than some of the idiots here and he'll never measure up to his dad in their eyes so its probably for the best to put all his eggs in one basket.
I dont think this means extravagant investment immediately but we can expect to worry about finances less (the wages issue will not change, nor should it) and maybe we can aim a bit higher on a few targets.

I think I'd rather we went softly this season.  Continuing to buy sensibly and consolidate rather than rushing out and bunging money at a few big names.  Give Lambert a season to get into the swing of the club and get to know the squad, youngsters and backroom staff.  Too much too soon may well end up creating more problems than it will solve.

They would have to take their shoes and socks off to answer that question.

As far as I am concerned this is good news, it makes him financially secure and will allow him more time to spend at Villa.
It indicates his preference for our club over NFL football, it should mean he will improve in his connection with the game and lead to a closer relationship with PF and Paul Lambert.
I don't expect mega money at all, in fact I am very happy the way we are building already, and that we are starting to feel like a proper club again. If it means we have a financially stable owner for the long haul I am sure investment will continue at a sensible pace.

Spot on.  If this means that RL will be spending more time in England then his relationship with PL and the team will be stronger.  Plus if he is financially secure then together they can build on solid foundations and progress the club on a gradual upturn.  I don't think RL will make the same mistake re laying out money that he made with MON.

If he does get £600m from the Browns and decides to re-invest in a substantial way I boldly predict the return of the General.

The problem wasn't providing funds though. The problem was with having a manager that had no scouting network and insisted on buying ageing Premier League players on excessive wages. On top of that, he would play the same team every week and let the rest of the squad rot. With what appears to be good value signings from abroad/lower league who will be on less wages, I would imagine Lambert is fast gaining Lerner's trust. Maybe in another years time when we've got rid of the last O'Neill players and the wage bill is back at a healthy level, those kind of funds can be made available again - but with the experience of knowing not what to do this time around.

I doubt it, unless he quits his full-time job.
