Can't remember the last time I heard the plaintive cry of the Rag and Bone man. Same can be said of the ' Any old iron' shout by a bloke driving a pre war Bedford.

We have had them come round by us every now and then, too, for about the last six months. Hadn't seen (or heard) them for years previously.

Used to hear them often when I lived in B32. Not only shouting but blowing a horn as well.

I live next to one, unfortunately. Every morning my view out of the front of my house is of his truck loaded with the previous days plunder. Mind you, he has a really nice cast iron patio set in his back garden that he has restored. They can cost a packet cant they?

round our way they turn up at my customers(i sell parts to garages) with the  cry "got any scrap" or at least the ones who bother to ask first do..quick note, if you are unlucky enough to need a new cat on your car, do NOT let the garage keep the old one! It belongs to you  & depending on the type you could get upwards of £30 for it at a scrap metal merchant (check your yellow pages if you dont know one). Btw. Any news on transfers?

Brownhills seems to be the tat man capital of the world.  Don't leave anything unbolted down of minimal value & it'll be gone.

Cant argue with that...I live on a decent quiet road in Brownhills where kids can enjoy playing safely on the streets (cant remember the last time I saw that when I lived in Birmingham) but still my neighbour left his and his kids mountain bikes outside for a few hours and some arsehole half inched the lot!

Hate rag and bone men.

I see very little appears to be happening transfer wise.
