I think they've tried forcing our hand somewhat in the press and taking the Redknapp approach to a transfer. Lambert probably has several targets in mind he wants to look at. Who knows, when he gets back he might lay on another tour or two before deciding on a player.

Feyenoord and Vlaar just want that money in the bank asap.

I would have thought we would have let vlaar know that  nothing would happen while away in the usa but we may have more talks on our return- while feyenoord are getting him fit and paying his wages theres no rush , but id hope we do follow up and sign him as he looks a steal at £3.2m.

If there is any hassle PL will just move onto his next target, like Spurs asking 6 mill for Naughton, so we signed Lowton instead, I think PL knows there is lots to be done between now and the start of the season so he cant hang around with long running transfer sagas.

I reckon this is spot on supertom.

I reckon they probably have a deal lined up and need the cash before their target goes elsewhere.

Yep - if you don't want a deal to happen you don't keep bringing it up in the press.  He wants to come here and his club want to sell him to us.  Only way this won't happen is if we don't want it to.

We really could do with shipping a few out too. Especially over-paid under performing defenders.

Does anyone really think that, having said last week that we have so much money, he doesn't understand why it is taking so long, when we return this week, if we were to say "let's do the deal" Koeman would say no?

They'll sell, we've got the money, we've got the power.

Lambert may have a better idea on some of his squad after this tour and possibly some players may have impressed enough to make him reconsider things, he may have seen positions he needs to strengthen but have been pleasantly surprised by the displays of some he has question marks against.

I think we will see things happen in the next week after our return and he fine tunes his squad for next season, maybe another 2 in and 2 or 3 out?

I think this USA tour will have done some players a favour, and some not.
But, it will have been very useful for the gaffer.

Rumors thats a fee for Snodgrass has been accepted, not necessarily Villa but we're the biggest dogs in for him.
