First OGS now Ron Vlaar. Seems a very odd thing to do wasting money to get the bloke over here if they didn't intend to sign him? Oh well, this is what we have become accustomed to the last couple of years I guess.

My apologies, indeed you didn't.
How have we become accustomed to spending money on bringing players/managers over to Villa Park when we had no intention of signing them over the last few years ? Do you have other examples ?

I trust Lambert to do the right thing.  There must be a reason that this Vlaar deal hasn't been followed up. I'm happy to put my faith in Lambert rather than slag the club off when I know feck all about what's happening behind the scenes.

Getting back to the point I just think it makes us look a little arrogant and unprofessional. This guy has the chance to play in the champions league, something he will never do with us but still seemed very keen to join.

He had the chance to earn ~£40K per week with us, something he'd never do with Feyenoord.

No it doesn't. We haven't spoken to the press that's been all Vlaar and Feyenoord. As I said before the deal may still come off but I'm not sure what we've done wrong here.

We've done nothing wrong at all, we've kept quiet and dignified (as ever) while they've mouthed off in the media. I still think he'll sign for us.
