The Sun are reporting our Martin has signed Warnock and Collins. Being reported as a done deal so it will be interesting if we see them tonight. No way they'd play if this is true.

They're both on the bench apparently.

Yep. Saw that

Starting line up

Given,Herd, Lichaj, Dunne, Baker, Ireland, Gardner, Delph, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Weimann

James Nursey is suggesting the deal isn't done just that Villa have agreed the deal.

That's pretty much all it takes, doesnt it? But I'm also hearing through ITKers that Collins is keen on shipping up north but Warnock wants to stay at Villa. Honestly, I would have taken £1m and weeks groceries for each.. can't complain about a £4mil double swoop and a chunk out of our collective wages. MON went out and signed Cuellar, Collins and Warnock for damn near £20million, only to scoop all three years later for £4mil. What a fool. I think Sunderland might be in for a relegation scrap with the way their back line is starting to come together, or fall apart for that matter..

Let's get Vlaar in.

The only thing I'll say is this lot played well for MON as a unit. They just shit the bed for us under Houllier and TSM. Still it is another sign we are moving on from that era and frees us up to get new blood in.

I've waited up to watch this match and have just realised I'm going to doze off after 10 mins. Max.

Collins is playing in the second half so I'm guessing he hasn't been sold.

Players can be injured in any level of competition - see Gabby tonight. If Warnock and Collins had been sold they would not have played. As it is they did so I'm things aren't as done as has been suggested by The Sun. Not saying it won't happen but I think the reports are a little premature.

The sooner that pair of liabilities are off the better. They dont have a future with the new Villa.

if we get 6 millions for the pair, that great but we should try to get them for 7 millions (With Hutton as part of deal)

It'll be £3m if Hutton is part of the deal.

I'd still be inclined to keep Warnock. He's one of the few who can keep it and as shite as we was at times last season in the run in he was one of our best, most solid, performers. Maybe he needs a manager who just puts his arm around him for him to come good. that certainly wasn't Houllier. Also, for all the talk of dropping the next defender not to mark at corners (or some such  comment) it was only Warnock that was usually dropped. Inisolation okay, but it would have left a player who maybe needing a cuddle to be exposed and singled-out by McLeish as the only problem in the back 4.

At times Warncok has looked very very good. At times, very very bad. If lambert can work him out then there is still a very good player there.

In fairness I thought Collins looked very good when he came on today, solid and composed

I'm not sure I understand the rush to see the back of Collins and Warnock. Defensively we didn't do too badly overall last season given he had us defending for the majority of games. It was midfield and up front we were truly woeful.

Both had dips during the season, but did ok overall. Warnock, in particular, was probably our best player in those last few painful games. Difficult to replace two experienced premier league players for what we seem to be getting for them.
