As one of our forwards last year, he saw so little of the ball I can fully understand his reluctance to pass it to anyone when he does have it!

I reckon we'll be signing another winger whther N'Zogbia stays or goes.  We need to competition and the cover.

Dependent on formation, we have N'Zogbia, Holman, Gabby and Albrighton as senior options, Carruthers and the other youth as cover/competition.

Hasn't Marc Albrighton broke his foot and will be out for a while?

he'll only miss a handful of games, was reported as out for 10weeks, which means back training by mid september, Swansea on the 15th is our 4th game so we don't need to worry about covering for him by signing someone, we won't play with 2 wide men all the time anyway.

charlie adam =  ? new steve sidwell , move from smaller club to bigger club after been big fish in small pond then dont do so well, we get high hopes and we sign them after a season or so and they disappear ......

See also N'Zogbia

I'd agree with Holte L2 - we shouldn't be writing him off yet, so give him until Christmas and see if he can deliver the goods.

Agree.  Would like to see us buy another wide player (Matt Phillips would be my personal choice) and give N'Zogbia until January to prove himself.  If he doesn't show any interest, then don't play him and move him on then.  I personally get the impression that he doesn't want to play wide and would prefer to play a more central role like he did at Wigan.

Got a feeling Lambert isn't going to play with Wingers.

Got a feeling Lambert isn't going to play with Wingers.
Think he'll play with one, and have someone like Holman who won't get chalk on his boots but try and drift in field to make things happen. The good thing with Holman is he's clearly a hard working player who'll cover a lot of ground and not forget to defend when needed.
If he does play four in midfield then I'd guess one of the wide positions will be more of a drifting role. The Pires kind of role at Arsenal. That would be where Ireland may have to play if he's to have an impact in this side. I'd think it'll be one of Holman or Ireland. If Ireland starts moaning if he can't get his favoured position then I guess he'll be off in Jan or next summer.
There is the option to play two centrally minded mids wide and allow them to come in field, especially if Lambert opts for attacking fullbacks. Lowton seems to be this. If we looked at Bertrand that suggests he wants someone similar on the left.

Slow day today....

A very slow day. You can tell it is by an article in the Meaning Evil about the top ten most stylish Midlands footballers. A slow news day when barrels are being scraped to fill column inches.
