They won't let Adam go with Rodgers in, it would be an odd move.

What if Lambert wants Downing back...... shivers.....

I'd love Milner back, would gladly take Young, but would not have that fucking weasel Downing back. I'd have a look at Gareth Barry before thinking of getting Downing back.

Aquilani, Shelvey, Gerrard, Henderson, the new signing (is he a midfielder?), Lucas...all central midfield. Adam could find himself squeezed out. As ever it depends on if they're selling; if he'd want to leave; if he'd want to come to Villa; his wages. Lots of hurdles but if all 4 are positive I'd happily take him.

They've also been heavily linked to Joe Allen from Swansea, so that might mean Adam could be further down the pecking order.  He's still only 26, is a good player and would provide good service off set pieces.  El Ahmadi and Adam in midfield with someone like Ireland in front of them could be good.

Adam is less mobile than Barry.  I wouldn't necessarily be against signing him, I just wouldn't use him in a midfield three with Ireland.

a lot of running for El Ahmadi if that was the case

Adam is a luxury player and I dont think we can afford both him and Ireland in the side. Would be good to improve our diabolical deliveries at set piece time though and we have zero goal threat in midfield at the moment which he would improve.

I'd quite happily take Joe Cole off their hands (although unlikely I've always liked him).

Adam is so slow though. He can't play in a 2 man midfield. Very good on the ball and excellent set pieces. But I agree he's a bit of a luxury

If we're going to be having 3 in the middle, I'd love Adam to be one of them. If 2 - then not so much. Adam has stagnated at Liverpool, but he's a great passer of the ball. He worked hard for Blackpool too, tbh.

Another thing Adam would bring is height and a physical presence. Another six foot plus player in the team for defending set pieces wouldn't be a bad thing.

Didn't do Barry much harm.

Makoun won't play for us again.

I'd take Charlie Adam. I think he would link up well with Ireland.

I'm a bit underwhelmed if its Adam, He's slow and he'd probably want big money
