Rumours abounding on Twitter that Hutton is off to Stoke:-)

Perfect for everyone . Please make this happen .

Not so perfect for Stoke.

You can see Pulis' thinking behind it I suppose...'What is my squad really lacking?  I know! another talentless thug!'

Even Hutton's better than Andy Wilkinson.

A guy at work reckons his mate at villa park has told him we are one of 5 clubs to talk with michael owen and that we want him on a pay per game basis whereas stoke are offering him a normal contract- no idea if true but he seems convinced .

In any case stoke seems his likely choice.

Lambert also confirmed there was no truth in rumours linking Villa with a move for Manchester United striker Michael Owen.

“No, that won’t happen,” he said.

“There was no enquiry from us, I don’t know where that one came from.

“That’s a non-starter. He’s a top player, no doubt, a really top player, but that’s for another team.”

There has also been no enquiry from Villa about Andy Carroll despite Lambert admitting he was an admirer of the Liverpool and England frontman last weekend.

“There’s nothing on Andy Carroll, no,” added Lambert.

A supposed ITK agent on Twitter just said we're going to use the £8mil Liverpool owe us to bid for an unamed Liverpool player.

Isn't it 5 mil?

Any ideas which Liverpool player we might be interested in 5m range.

Doubt it's true. Maybe Charlie Adam or Bellamy?

Can't see it though, tbh.

I'd actually keep Warnock. And I think Adam would be a great buy from Liverpool.

Yeah, I'd like Adam.

Especially if we're to play 4-3-1-2. Leader, capable of playing the ball to Ireland and into Bent, great set pieces and he's left footed.

Wouldn't want him anywhere near a 2 man midfield though.

I'd rather we didn't sign Adam, he'd cost a fair whack and I imagine better value can be found elsewhere.

Liverpool will want to cut their losses.

Well, aren't we meant to be interested in Carroll? Not sure who I'd want least out of him and Adam, to be fair.

Edit: just seen Lambert distancing us from Carroll, so maybe not.

Adam was one of their better players until  he got injured.

Although I admittedly didn't see them that much.

Would have thought Brendan Rogers would want to keep Adam. Seems like his type of player.
