All this shopping in Holland is all well and good but from my past experiences while it can bring short term joy it only lasts a week or so and all goes up in smoke.

Daily Mail reporting our interest in Vlaar

It also says we want to sign Danny Simpson or Chris Gunter. Why would we need another right back?

If we face stiff competition from Reading for a signing I think its safe to say we should move on and set our sights a little higher.
I don't rate Simpson by the way. Reading is probably his level.Newcastle are looking a much better prospect these days and I think his days are numbered there.

Basically KEA and Vlaar were 2 of there best players last season and they are gutted if Vlaar leaves too but it will get them money for new players

I didn't know Greg posted on the Feyenoord site!

"Vlaar's just a mediocre player, defensive means located in the premier league is standing so, footballing is the drama in the Dutch national team was the defending even nothing. And I think it is a move to Aston Villa is not exactly a dream transfer."

Well, we paid close to 8mil for Cuellar who barely played and became a Holte End hero so lets hope we can make another defensive signing for around the same fee but actually get something out of it. Vlaar is a captain and has good leadership qualities. We need a player to straighten out those who act like knobheads.

He is a passionate fella! Grabbing a mic and singing with the crowd. Awesome scenes.

We've found out about this deal because of some opportunistic photography. A bit like how everyone found out about OGS. A deal may be much further along for Vlaar than we know. Because if we know anything from this summer is that we have done our business quickly and quietly.

I am just glad that last season is a (repressed) memory and that we are looking at players that I know nothing about. A manager that is courting players he feels could change things for the better. Collins and Dunne are ok at times, good sometimes and awful other times.

Right now the signing feel like to me we are taking a chance and we might be great. We might not be, but the obvious is boring and it started to feel like my season ticket and each season was in a loop of avoiding disaster. Right now it feels like a new dawn. I like it.
