Is anyone else finding themselves still basking in the relief of shedding McLeish and then appointing Lambert, and thereby finding they're entirely relaxed about what happens in this transfer window?

I am.

exactly my feelings and i cannot wait to see the lads in action - its like being told the terminal disease you had has gone away

Yup, see my post on the predictions thread. Our whole psychology has changed.

Yes, thats exactly how I feel. I wont lie, I want to see a lot more excitement in the transfer window but for now I completely trust him to get it right or thereabouts. Which is in stark contrast to the last... manager.

I said somewhere else in reference to the interview Woodcock had with him on thr first day back in training that Lambe just appeared all business. It filled me with even more confidence in him than I had to begin with. Now, we have to temper that because of the incredible contrast between him and TSM and the hope it gives all of us. But right now, I'm not only delighted how everything has gone since the last game of the season but really calm about everything he is about to do. I just hope once pre-season starts and we lose our first game people done freak out and realise it is all part of a process.

Little confused with the Guzan thing

We let him go presumably as he wanted 1st team football and we wanted to reduce the wage bill so did not offer him a new contract

Now he looks like resigning so is it:

a/ A reduced wage contract
b/ An improved one (so the saving money option was a non starter)
c/ Lambert does rate him and will hold true that he will get a proper chance based on form
d/ No other bugger wanted him so we cheekily have gave him a lesser offer

Either way i feel it better the devil you know as i feel Given will yet again have a few injury issues during the season

Given was TSM's signing so the chance that Guzan was going to get a look in was probably quite remote. He probably thought even if he played better than Given that he'd be permanently second choice. Not only will Lambert look at the situation neutrally but Guzan probably looked at what else is out there and having spoken to Lambert figued that he might not get a better situation elsewhere, and especially at the top level in England.

I'm pretty sure I read/heard that we offered Guzan a new deal but he didn't accept it (not exactly suprising with TSM saying that Given will always be No 1)

It's also quite likely that with Ruddy's future at Norwich being in the balance last season that Lambert would already have looked at Guzan as a potential replacement for Ruddy at Norwich towards the end of last season - Has played at Prem Level, Young, Determined, Free

Lambert saying to Guzan "I was thinking of signing you as Norwich Keeper before I took this job, why don't you come back here and Challenge for the No 1 Spot?"

Bit of a No Brainer on Guzan's part and doesn't neccisarily mean he needs an Iimproved deal.

Josh Webb is very promising at right back (he can also play centre half). But Enda aside, Derrick Williams is the best young left back I can think of at the youth level and he's essentially a centre half who can play left back.

I'd definitely be looking at bringing in a senior left back and a youngster too. If the move for Bertrand is true then Lambert thinks along those lines.

Josh Webb was the one I was thinking of for right back but I thought there was a young Irish lad doing well at left back (not Williams as I understood he was a centre back and not Stevens). Maybe it was my imagination.

with the Guzan thing, Lambert couldnt posibly know that much about him as he has hardly played, so he must have relied on other peoples opinions and advice,
so they must have been positive, ie in the way Guzan is around the training camp, his ability as a goalkeeper, we all saw him perform last season briefly and he never put a foot wrong, but if he was suspect in some areas then the backroom staff would surely have told Lambert,

as he looks to be re signing it just shows he must be highly rated within the club and with people that know him and work with him, thats got to be a good thing in my view

One of the things that has impressed me about Lambert is that he knows who he wants and he's going about getting them in with a minimum of fuss.  I don't think I could ask for much more this Summer.

It was reported in May, under TSM,  that Guzan had been offered a new deal and he rejected it.

Lambert has said that he's watched videos of our games last season and that Guzan's spell in the team was impressive, so fair play to him for bringing him back. Also, fair play to him for sitting through videos of last season's dross.

As a positive, there's no way he could've watched us play last season and failed to reach the conclusion that some of the players (especially Hutton and Warnock) are just not good enough, and his actions so far suggest this is the case.

I am.

Last week my missus cleaned the house, put the kids to bed, made a huge lasagne and waited until I'd eaten it. Then mentioned that her mother will be coming on holiday with us this summer.

In the right context anything can seem like a good idea

Must have been a good lasagne.
