We're certainly not wasting anytime this summer, are we?

For all of those thinking we had got the new MON, think again. One thing Lambert has been stressing is how important it is to get players in early and have them part of the set up quickly. It wouldn't shock me to see at least one more face added next week before they head to Burton and then off to the US.

Some said Lambert was 'MON-lite'. The better comparison would probably be Windows 7 to Unix.

Mathew Lowton, apparently. Never heard of him.
Not very exciting these signings. We seem to be doing things on the cheap these days.
Yes, I too yearn for a return to the days when we spent stupid amounts of money on exceptionally average footballers.

Yeah, so no more Young, Milner or Darren Bent then.
Don't get me wrong, he may turn out to be a good player but it's still a bit of an underwhelming signing. We need a couple of established players in to get the fans excited.

I'm happy with underwhelming, right now.
I feel that Lambo is supplementing the squad with players who will all make a contribution to team success whilst recognising the potential flair that exists within the squad.

We need to walk before we can run though, and become a team again, which seems to be what Lambert is trying to do. Hopefully theres a bit more in the kitty, and a couple more signings to go straight into the first team will make a difference.

More importantly,we'll have good coaching and tactics which we never had last season, without TSM things will be a lot different. It's good to feel positive for the first time in over a year. UTV.

Lowton may feel like an "underwhelming" signing at the moment but it sounds like PL is building a young talented team for the future which has to be an exciting prospect. We have a limited budget to play with in the transfer market and a lot of players to bring in to strengthen the squad, so these may well turn out to be very intelligent and astute signings that will grow and improve under PL. Whether or not there will be any budget left over to bring in a high profile player in this transfer window remains to be scene, but the most important thing is that we improve the overall quality of defence and midfield which have been our weaknesses these last few seasons.

They all seem like smart signings so far and no doubt there will be a couple more. We do still need an extra bit of proven quality though and I still think that will come, just a little later in the summer.

also don't discount the fact that a lot of these players will play better, be more confident and lively now that TSM has gone. It must have been murder around the place by the end of the season. I'd expect that the performance levels from all of the players will be better, and better still once the liability players are removed from the club.

Some are tweeting that Gabby is off to Swansea for £5m. It's probably bollocks so I guess somebody had to post it, may as well be myself.

What I like is he has obviously targeted these players and got them in quick. I reckon he must have been interested in them before coming here.
In the press certain players are constantly linked with moves and you see them in the gossip columns. These two players seem to have come in under the radar. I have no idea what they are like but I like the way he is operating quickly and withou any fuss.

No, what we need is the manager being given space and freedom to build the squad he thinks appropriate, big names or otherwise.

I wonder if how he works by keeping dossiers on players he rates, even if he doesn't need them right away.  So when joining us, instead of starting scouting he just opens the folder labeled 'right back' and sees who's on his list?

so what if he signed a big name player first and then these types of player afterwards? Would it make a difference? How about giving the bloke a chance to build the squad first and be happy that on July 6th, less than a week after the window has officially opened we have 3 new faces. We'll have 4 once Guzan returns and I'd bet on at least one more before the US trip. If at the end of August we've only signed this lot, and no other player we might grumble a bit. Quite frankly, I really didn't think anyone could see the negative in anything that Lambert or indeed the club has done so far. I was wrong on that one.

I heard it's actually closer to 3m and he's fallen out with Lambert.
