Will some fans accept that we have Paul Lambert now who will make so called 'average' players perform to an exceptional level.

Agreed. Why not try it with Gardner, Albrighton or Bannan rather than wasting money on Peter?

Whittingham is a quality footballer. He will prove that if he comes back I am very sure. He can pass and shoot.

Besides if rumours that hutton might go tuther way are played out, he is worth bringing back on that alone!

Totally agree.

Whittingham makes sense, and is an indication of the way we might be going.

A player who can deliver accurate crosses (unlike N'Zog), isn't afraid to shoot and whose overall game has come on leaps and bounds since he left us.

Crucially, he won't cost the earth, won't be on killer wages and won't demand to be a first team regular either.

A very reliable source on FB has said that they expect the signings of El Ahmadi and Whittingham to be completed next week,

Me too. I'd love to see the cultured (if lightweight? - I haven't seen much of him lately) Whitts back. Show's we're going more towards German-Italian way of playing instead of just being a team of not very physical grunts.

Actually I think it's ridiculous to judge anyone by their size.

Whittingham takes a great free kick, when was the last time we had a player who could do that?

Don't shoot the messenger! Just popped up in my FB feed that Clyne is all but sorted. Probably ballsacks but thought i'd mention it.

I miss the anticipation we used to have when we had a free kick in a dangerous area and has Solano on the pitch. Young chipped in with the odd one but more often than not I expected him to pick someone out in the crowd. A proven set-piece taker would certainly be a welcome trait.

I dont see the problem with resigning Whittingham...he's equally as good as Downing and better than Albrighton. If he can provide service to Bent and contribute a few goals himself then he'll be a great signing.

And lo and behold this also appeared in my FB feed. As I said probably total ballsacks but who knows.

Clyne looked class when we played palace in the cup a few years back and im surprised warnock never took him to qpr, not sure why nobody has snapped him up sooner but if he can reproduce that sort of form id be very happy with him at right back, hungry players from the championship are what i like to see rather than old journeymen just looking to pass the time and make easy money.

Whittingham, holman, clyne, el ahmedi , and makoun would be a considerable improvement on last season and still plenty of time to bring in another 3 or 4 yet.
