Out of contract Flamini signs a vastly reduced one-year deal at Milan:

James Horncastle ‏@JamesHorncastle
Flamini set to sign on for another year at Milan according to ANSA. New deal: €1.5m p/a. Old deal €4m p/a

Maybe we could have got him!

It's on Twitter that we've signed defensive midfielder Karim El Ahmadi from Feyenoord for €2.8m. Anyone seen him play?

From Wiki

On 26th June, 2012, it was announced that El Ahmadi would transfer to English Premier League club Aston Villa for a fee of 2.8m Euros, joining the club as newly appointed manager Paul Lamberts first transfer signing. El Ahmadi was entering the final year of his 5 year deal with Feyenoord and manager Koeman admitted the offer was 'too good to refuse' for the club.

Apparently Forest were after him last summer.

Lambert does know we didn't go down doesn't he?

He's an athletic ball winner apparently.

He looks neat and tidy with the ball on YouTube.

Elsewhere Cardiff have apparently accepted an offer from Villa for Whittingham.

Sounds like the ITK that Mazrim posted on this thread earlier could be right.

Whittingham came back from his holidays and told his mates he was going back to Villa. I think I posted it a couple of weeks back. Also this has been up for over a week now

Said before, I think Whittingham could be excellent back here, and is a good age to step back up. I would go as far as to say he would be every bit as good as Downing in his good season with us. If we go with Holman right and Whittingham left, and sign an option like Phillips and keep NZogbia, out wide we could have a really good mix.

In the centre of the park, we lack a ball winner, so makes sense, if 2.8m euros is right, then for essential just over 2 million pounds, we would be adding a ball winner to Herd, Makoun, Gardner, Delph and Ireland. I would think that would give us plenty of option then hopefully. Plus Clark can play in there too. I do think Delph and Makoun will be given a season, as will Bannan, to show what they have before major money is spent in there.

If Gunter comes in too, Lambert is taking an approach I would be happy with trying, singing good players from the Championship and europe without killer wages and fees, and giving them a shot.
