Siggurdson is not their player though yet is he?

Danny Murphy is also reckoned to be the Guardians 'Secret Footballer' so we'd get some decent snippets from him.

Not anymore. He won't go back of Rodgers isn't there. We should get in quick because there will be plenty of takers and I think he'll be in the Prem next season.

Ta, I thought I'd read that somewhere, I'd imagine he's a shoe-in at Liverpool then.

if we waste any transfer budget on Holt it would show immediately that the mentality at the club had not altered one iota. We know money will be tight. Why waste what little there is on a thirty something player with no resale value whatsoever.? Our priorities are in defence and midfield.

We should give the man a chance and wait and see what he can do with any players he chooses to bring in, whether that's Holt or not!

He may even work wonders with some of the existing squad rather than move them on?  Whilst its fun to speculate, I for one am a lot more optimistic regarding than I have been for a longtime, the reset buttons been pressed with the arrival of the new man, and I'm more than happy to give him time to settle in and rebuild, I want some longevity this time round.

Don't disagree with you asgpaul, but Dunne, Collins and Warnock are now all in the last year of their contracts, now is the time to move them on if we're going to. The squad was weak last season, it'll need a lot of work over the summer. I'm sure he'll get some cash to spend and there must be room in the wage bill now for some sensible recruitment The players released since January must have been taking up £175k week of it at least!

Randy will surely realise that we came dangerously close to relegation and thus losing a hell of a lot of money. Like he proved with Bent, I don't think he'd be adverse to ploughing some money back into the team to ensure that we're pushing higher up the league and nowhere near the position last year. 20 million outlay, giving you potential to nab a last European place (if it happens to be 6th, or 7th like some years, or a cup) is better than the threat of relegation which could wipe us out.

He won't ever spend 40 mill a summer as he did with O Neill, but if we want to stay ahead of the likes of all those clubs from 9th below, and keep up with Everton, Newcastle, possibly Liverpool, then we have to spend money.

Perhaps Randy hoped last season that the emphasis on kids would have saved us a pretty penny and unearthed a vibrant team capable of surprising but it didn't work that way. We need more experienced and better players and obviously we need the right manager. We have that now (touch wood).
If we spend 20 million I think we'll finish comfortably in the top 10. Someone between 7th-10th IMO. Just depends on how well certain teams do. I expect us to get between 50-60 points.

Looking at a Norwich forum, didn't realise Ryan Nelsen and Danny Murphy are out of contract. Think they would both be ideal signings for Mr Tickle to make once appointed.

Quite like Wes Hoolahan...always seems decent when I have seen them...but a big no to Holt. We have Bent and Weimann...

Here's hoping Mr. Tickle brings in Bosingwa on a free to replace hutton, and Grant Holt to partner Bent.

No to Grant Holt, definitely not the sort of player we need.

Whats with the Mr Tickle?

Maybe he might get Naughton as the RB, he looked as good as Walker in his younger days.

Naughton is older than Walker! I do agree though, a good player.

Agree on Boswinga, as long as his wage demands aren't too bad.

We'll all have our own opinions on who PL signs but let's try not to be too critical. The thought of Grant Holt at Villa doesn't excite me overly (and who says PL wants him anyway just now?), but if he did bag another 15-20 goals next season in our colours I wouldn't be complaining. We've got our man, now we have to trust him, right?
