If QPR did want Given and it made sense financially for us to sell, I'd take Ruddy or Robinson in as replacements.

I think it's vital we keep Given. We're seriously lacking senior pros at the club and his experience coupled with the fact he is imo a top goalkeeper means we have to hold onto him.

a top keeper is as valuable as a top striker-not just my opinion (see Clough's autobiography on signing Peter Shilton)

fully agree but i dont think given is a top keeper! hes a great shot stopper but has 0 command of his back 4 or his box which is shocking as he has player with dunne at club and international level for years, dare i say as many great saves he made last season he cost us just as many by not coming for crosses and corners and generally staying rooted to his line 99% of the time also the fact he is likely to miss 5-10 games a season through injury

I wouldn't say Given single handedly cost us points by not coming for crosses, but I take your point. It should be known by the personnel in front of him that he doesn't cope well with crosses, and there should be a contingency to cope with that problem. He is a top class shot-stopper though.

Quite.

If for whatever reason Given were to leave, we should be going all out to get Guzan back.

Bollocks to Robinson. He can go to West Ham.

no arguments there from me however dunne and collins are like the chuckle brothers and if i were a keeper i would not have trusted them to make my job easier, but i did say earlier that i want 2 new center halfs 1 veteran to play alongside clarke in the hangerland/vermahlen relms and one youngster who is abit older than baker and co around 23-25 i like mariappa from watford and mier from Monterrey in mexico as a punt hes great in the air and a strong lad. so maybe with a new back 4 given would be fantastic

Won't Foster be available this summer?

I'd be happy for Given to leave the club.  High wages and 36 years old.  I think we can get a decent keeper for better wages and younger. Players like Hoilet, Moses, Diame, Pogrebnyak all available on frees.  I'd like to see at least one big "bums on seats" type signing too.  Once Lambert is signed up, I hope we have a revolving door at the club with the likes of Dunne, Hutton and Warnock shown the door.

Hoilett wouldn't be free. Moses wouldn't be even he was out of contract (which he's not). And Diame is rubbish.

Other than that...

Also as said before it makes a lot more sense for our transfer policy to focus on the continent to get value for money and quality. It's ok picking up the odd player from England, but our focus should be further afield.
