Now here's a rumour that I heard today from someone who has connections with Wigan Football Club, albeit distant one..........Martinez is on his way, and as replacement Dave Whelan has had discussions with Michael Owen about taking over as manager.  Owen is believed to be keen..........now the really amusing part, Whelan wants Emile Heskey involved with Owen as his Number 2........really never seen Heskey as management material!

Make of it what you will, it could well all be tosh, but this is what I have been told

I've often thought "Number 2" when watching Heskey.

Burnley's Rodriguez to Southampton today for £7m backs up the argument of British based players being overpriced IMHO!

I thought the same and considering Jordan Rhodes scored 3 times as many goals as he did how much is worth........

For those who hold a light for Diame, here's a quote off the Guardian website this evening:
Mohamed Diame, Martínez's former midfielder at Wigan, has revealed he was set on a free transfer to Liverpool until Dalglish was sacked as manager. The Senegal international, who is out of contract this summer, said: "I met Kenny Dalglish and we talked about next season but God decided to finish this situation. It is true. I was very sad in my head as I was thinking to go there but that is okay as I think I have got other opportunities to go to another club. I have got some offers from Spain, from France, from Turkey, but I really want to stay in the Premier League."

Why is Diame so in demand that he couldn't get into Wigan's team?

Because, although he is "said in his head", he has great big brass balls. KKKenny  knows a thing or two about a thing or two.

I wondered this... Diame and Rodallega didn't play that much in the second half of last season, not sure if they're that good...

Wigan's good form coincided almost exactly with when Martinez dropped Diame to the bench and restricted him to five minute substitute appearances.

I think its because they switched to 3-4-3 and didn't need a holding midfielder with 3 centre backs. He is a good player for that role IMO but I do think Rodallega is terrible. He makes Heskey look clinical.

Like Hartman said.

Plus Malnoey & Moses were in good form.

Diame did come off the bench and score a cracker in one match  though.

I have no great opinion about Diame one way or another, but always thought Rodallega was built up to be a lot more than he is.  Plus, unless someone leaves, we're likely to play 1 striker and have Bent, Gabby & Weimann, all of whom I'd play ahead of Rodallega.
