Am I only one thinking that days of Adam Johnson are over in Man City? He would probably have takers on other teams too and price and his wages might be too high for Villa.

Johnson is another one I would love at Villa. Cracking player, and needs a move. Again should be automatic for England now, but has lost his way in the madness of Man City.

I share Mazrim's concerns over Johnson, but would give him a try on a 12-month loan with City picking up a good chunk of his wages.

I think Milner liked it here, so we should be first in the queue if he's being let go.

Any Man City squad player should realise that the two to three years they are there is a one off huge bonus to their wages, and that if they want to actually play football at another club, they'll then have to adjust their wage demands to a more reasonable level.

Milner doesn't seem to have been getting much game time for a good while now and if they decided to bolster their midfield he'll only fall down the pecking order. Probably wouldn't buy him outright but again, a loan might be possible with a view to a permanent move which would be more feasible with a year less on his contract.

A lot of good teams will want him but we have some connection with him at least. I wouldn't expect it but your never know.
Again, it all depends on our ambitions this summer.

We missed him last season but we should move on now to more dynamic players.

Taht is my view. We could really have done with him last season. He was just the sort of player we needed, particularly once Petrov was out. But that time has now gone.

Dirk Kuyt is surplus to requirements at Klanfield - I would take him as a squad player if his wages aren't too high.

Kuyt is on somewhere near £80-100k a week so I think we would be pissing in the wind there.

If the Euros or World Cup was coming up next  year, I could realistically see a scenario where Milner came back to us on loan.

He'd want game time to make the international squad and Citeh wouldn't sell to who they'd perceive to be a rival- so that would rule out most of the top 4/5.

I don't see it now, unfortunately.  Citeh are planning a overhaul this summer and want money back on their fringe players. That, rather than not selling to a rival seems to be the biggest consideration  based on what Mancini said earlier in the year.

Surging runs when he ran into a dead end and we lost the ball again.

Yeah, I think we'll leave it there. Herd wil be a better player and there will certainly be better players our there not asking for £50-60k p/w.

If he is asking for that fair enough, but I would take him back on 30k a week. Herd is a good player, but not close to having the hassling ability of Reo Coker yet, and if out, we have no one at all in that role. Strengthening there is a must, and on a free I would have him back.

as far as i was aware he was offered a new contract last summer on a reduced contract ( rumored to be 35000 ) and turned it down  to get what he was already on then at bolton what makes you think he'd take circa 30k now?

The way I read it, the club didn't make him an offer at all.

GH gave him the impression that it would be sorted out at the end of the season, when our league status was confirmed.   GH got ill and the club never got back to him in the summer.

Milan released a few of there veterans after there last game. Nesta, Inzaghi, Van Bommel, Zambrotta, Gattuso and Seedorf were not retained I believe.

Not advocating any of them tbh because of wages and there yesterdays men, although Seedorf could still do a job. Looks like Villa aren't the only ones who want to cut the wage bill.

One grammar crime we forgive, but please note 'their' and 'they're'. Thanks.
