What?  He was an £8.5million player a few seasons ago.  He must be a steal on a free!

I think so. Not the greatest midfielder around but he's definitely IMO an improvement on what we have and he's got a clause in his contract which means that he can leave Bolton for nothing following relegation.

Could have used him this season.  I'm hoping we won't be as desperate as to need him next.

£ 8.5 million?Over priced and he would want far to much in the wages departement.

I would have him back like a shot. Leader, gets tackles in, and we missed him terribly this season.

We missed him last season but we should move on now to more dynamic players.

Limited player but how badly we needed a leader to do the nitty gritty this season. I'd hope this season we look for a bit better, but wouldn't complain if we went for him
More of a 'meh' signing

Reo-Coker was under-rated at villa. I think he was great for us. Sure he would never split a defence with a pass but he had en engine, got stuck in and I used to enjoy those surging runs with the ball that relieved the pressure on our back line.

Surging runs when he ran into a dead end and we lost the ball again.

Yeah, I think we'll leave it there. Herd wil be a better player and there will certainly be better players our there not asking for £50-60k p/w.

If he is asking for that fair enough, but I would take him back on 30k a week. Herd is a good player, but not close to having the hassling ability of Reo Coker yet, and if out, we have no one at all in that role. Strengthening there is a must, and on a free I would have him back.
